This villa is ready to move into and has been renovated beautifully in the last couple of years. It is centrally located in the village, but exceptionally private in popular Cala’n Porter (South Coast, Menorca).
Through the front door entrance, you are immediately taken in by the large, open plan living area, with fantastic high beam ceilings. The lounge is spacious, with a wood burning fire place, perfect for cooler months as well as air conditioning. The kitchen is adjacent and fully fitted with luxury materials and fittings.
Large bi-folding doors communicate perfectly with the outside terrace, making an exceptional living and entertaining space. A second large terrace space is home to the heated swimming pool, which is also a great size for friends and family. At the back of the property is a well-located utility room and drying area.
There are 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the villa (the Master bedroom being en-suite, also with doors taking you out to the swimming terrace). All with plenty of wardrobe storage space and air conditioning. The villa is fully gated, private with off-street parking and a very useful shed.
This truly is a unique property which has been considerably thought through, designed, planned and executed.
Cala’n Porter is located on the South Coast of Menorca, benefiting from a beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters in a picture postcard cove to the south and a luscious green valley to the north. An area which is great for water sports or enjoying the beach in the day, and in the evening enjoying a stroll out to the abundance of bars and restaurants in the heart of the commercial center. The airport is a 10 mins drive away, the nearest towns are Sant Clemente, Mahon and Alaior, and the nearest alternative beaches / resorts are Son Bou, Santo Tomas, Cala Canutells, Binidali, Es Calo Blanc, Binisafua, Binibequer and Punta Prima on the south coast, Son Parc, Arenal d’en Castell, Macaret, Es Grau and Cala Mesquida on the north coast.
Alaior town, traditionally was a village which specialised in farming and cattle-raisin. Its main focus now is on the service industry. Crafts are also a great source of income in this area, specially handcrafted footwear
Alaior still reflects its charming medieval and historic heritage, on an ancient hill dominated by its beautiful church of Santa Eulalia. It is not unusual to see a rider on horseback, winding through the streets, as horses play a huge part in the towns culture. Alaior has a picturesque rural road running from its town to Es Mercadal, called the Cami d´en kane, which was the main thoroughfare, before the main road was built.
The municipality has some stunning beaches, such as Son Bou and Calan Porter, which are both a very short drive from the town. Alaior is fantastic for wondering about early or late evening, when the heat of the sun is not around and the light brings out a more intense colour pallet. There is a market and live music every Wednesday evening during the summer season and the whole town is alive and vibrant with tourists and locals alike, enjoying tapas, cold refreshments and the warm Mediterranean air.
